- Connector set up is only available to those with the Owner role.
Requirements:
- An application configured to allow an incoming connection from Smartbox.
Instructions
Step 1: Navigate to 'Connectors'
- From the application drop-down menu, select 'Connectors' from under 'Data sources'.
- This will take you to the Connector homepage.
- Each Connector created will have the following details:
- Connector name
- Connected with - the authentication method
- Credential owner
- Status - Connected / Unconnected / Connection Expired
- Connection expiration date - how long the connection is valid for
Step 2: Create a new connector
- Click the plus (+) icon on the right-hand sign to launch the connector creation window.
- Enter the following information:
- Connector - the external application you wish to connect to
- Connector name
- Connected with - the authentication method you wish to use
- Please note: username & password connections will auto-refresh every 24 hours and remain active for the duration of the token's life.
- Credential owner - the owner of the connector or authentication details
- Click 'Save' to create the connector.
Step 3: Connect to the data source
- Click 'Connect' on the right-hand side of your connector to launch the authentication window.
- Depending on the data source and the selected authentication method the credentials required will vary:
MS Exchange / OneDrive via client credentials
- ClientID
- UserID
- AppSecretValue
- TenantID
MS Exchange / OneDrive via username & password
- ClientID
- Username & password
- Enter the required information and click 'Connect'.
- If the authentication is successful the 'Status' of the connector will change from 'Unconnected' to 'Connected'.
