Culling is the function that enables the quick removal of duplicated data, email threads and empty folders from a Box.
Culling consists of 4 sub-functions that can be triggered all at once or individually to remove:
Duplicates
- Files that are exact copies of one another.
- Determined by a SHA-256 hashing algorithm.
Near duplicates
- Files that are similar but not exact copies.
- e.g. contracts for different individuals within the same organisation.
Email threads
- Email chains or conversations.
Empty folders
- Folders that contain no files.
